The Primal Village

1.jpg

Located in Quinlan, Texas, United States

Mission Statement
sustainable community focused on Permaculture, Wild Edibles, Alternative energy production, Natural building techniques, etc.

Community Description
This year we hope to be building several small Cob homes. If you are interested in helping and are OK with primitive camping with facilities on-site, do get in contact with us because we would love the help.

Bringing the intentional village and Primal skills together in one place for exceptional living and thriving in health, attitude, relationships and economy.
The primal Village will be an Intentional Community comprised of individuals and families who’s main goal in life is to live life without depending on the rest of the world for survival or existence, who are aware and accepting of Polyamory (you don’t need or have to be Polyamorous).

You will find that most of these people will be trying to live the four R’s (Refuse, Reduce, Reuse, Recycle). The reasons will be varied, some may live this life style because it is cost effective, others for the Planet, etc.

Members will most generally be interested in Alternative Energy production, Eliminating GMO foods from their diet, growing their own food (Wild Edibles, vegetables, meat, fruit), building their own Natural (locally obtainable natural resources) buildings/homes and many more similar ideas and lifestyles that result in not needing to buy anything.

If you are or know someone that might be interested in helping out with the formation and implementation of this project (planning, strategy, building, etc.), contact me.

Visitors accepted: No
Membership Process:
This will be detailed in the future.
Additional Comments:
We will be founded as a Secular Community. Spiritual practices will be personal and should be kept to one’s housing or at least not practiced in a way that offends others in the community. NO proselytizing of any kind will be accepted or allowed.
We are Secular.
Preference will be homeschooled but each member should school their children how they wish.

Economics
Join Fee: $3000
Dues, Fees, or Shared Expenses: Yes
Regular Fee per Month: $200
Shared Income: None
Required Labor Contribution per Week: 28
Open to members with existing debt: Yes
Additional Comments:
How much is the fee for joining? $3,000 – refundable if no cleanup is needed (should member leave with a partially built home, for example.)

How much is the ongoing contribution (per month)? This is really hard to answer as moneys are applied to community bills from community income. Basically if there are community bills that need to be paid, we all chip in (proportionately) to cover the expense.

Moneys earned from Community ventures will be proportioned accordingly to participants after overhead (coop style). Required participation in the form of time or resources (money, services, products, other people you pay to work for you in the community, etc.).

As long as they are able to meet the required community participation rules.

Each participant will be required to participate in the building of their home. Members may be required to do various communal jobs such as wash dishes or clean bathrooms in turn. Members will be expected to participate in some way when the community needs something (for instance… If we needed solar panels one might help sell fish from the aquaponics farm or contribute monetarily, which ever the member chooses).

We are considering leasing property rights for individual/family dwellings, to ensure certain property rights for members. We are open to other suggestions.

The Primal Village will be a natural, organic foods community. Grains, commercially processed meals and sugar (Stevia, almond flour, etc. are ok) will not be allowed in the community kitchen or pantry(ies) but are allowed in individuals homes.
Every one is welcome. Hopefully the focus will be more Primal foods but to each their own.
No abuse (drugs or alcohol) will be tolerated.
No Smoking allowed anywhere on the property unless it is tribal related or natural tobacco. No E-cigs, vaporizers anywhere on the property.
We want this to be a chemical free space. Safe for those who have MCS (Multiple Chemical Sensitivities.) As such, no perfume, cologne, dryer sheets, scented candles, scented air “fresheners”, scented anything really. Not even natural oils are safe for those with MCS. Think allergy and realize that some are allergic to cedar, peanuts, pollen, goldenrod, etc. (all of which are natural). While you may not be, other may be and it could be severe.
