When we first arrived at the Youthful Home, the original KTV room was piled with various items, in a state of disorder. Moreover, it was particularly dim and damp inside, with water accumulating on the floors of both the first and second levels. On several occasions, guests expressed their desire to sing at the KTV, prompting Manager Yan to decide on the urgent need for a makeover. Several brothers and sisters joined forces, initially moving all the clutter out. Subsequently, we peeled off the old and moldy wallpaper, re-plastered the walls, replaced them with fresh wallpaper, and cleared away the decayed wooden sofas on the second floor. Working together, we cleared out the broken pieces of wood and created a drainage ditch near the mountainous area. Following this, we purchased carpets, karaoke equipment, a song-selection platform, starry lights, and more. After an extensive cleaning and renovation, Manager Yan also found a solution to the KTV's humidity issue. Our KTV emerged in a completely new state. Congling, the keeper of KTV and the chess room, is responsible for assisting guests with song selection and daily cleanliness maintenance. Once again, I witnessed everyone turning a ruin into a miracle.
Qianlong and Fangyuan are two rare craftsmen in our community, skilled in repairing various equipment in the community and solving mechanical problems encountered in daily life. One day, they used discarded plastic pipes and idle wood to create a small raft. This small raft could accommodate seven or eight people, and on the day it was completed, it drew the curiosity of brothers and sisters who were eager to try it out. Everyone wanted to experience the feeling of rowing on water, and there were also a few swimming experts ready to assist. Unexpectedly, "Hengmao No. 1" successfully completed its first trial voyage that day. We had a great time, and a new recreational activity was added to our repertoire. Of course, this activity is limited to internal use and is not open to visitors. They later added a guardrail around the boat, making it look more professional. Thumbs up for their creative design and hands-on skills!
