Have you wondered if you really could ever ditch your current life, and start homesteading?  Could you grow your own food?  Build yourself a house?  Meet Rae Machado, a young woman who is doing just that.  Take a peek into her life in the “Dancing Rabbit” intentional community outside Memphis, MO.  Originally from Hollywood, CA, Rae wasn't happy with her hurried, materialistic lifestyle - successful on one hand, but seeming to bring more debt and disenchantment than anything else on the other.  She craved “real life”, whatever that meant.  She visited the Dancing Rabbit Eco Village in northeastern Missouri, and it was love at first sight.  For Rae, the learning curve was steep - working as a model really hadn't prepared her for growing her own food.  But she learned quickly, even building her own straw bale  house with her partner Elliott.  She now acts as a spokesperson for the community, contributing her P.R. and media savviness to the cause of intentional living.
