In your seventies, you traveled thousands of miles to visit, observe, and exchange ideas at Lifechanyuan’s community in Thailand, and then wrote articles presenting the history and present reality of Lifechanyuan. Your sincerity moved us deeply.

As a scholar, professor, sociologist, and editor-in-chief of Bitter Winter, you have shown rigorous scholarship, truthful reporting, and fair evaluation. You have spoken for the persecuted at personal cost and risk. Your courage commands respect; your compassionate heart earns admiration.

For more than twenty years, Lifechanyuan has passed through season after season of hardship. No government agency or scholar has given us serious and positive attention; even the United Nations has looked away in silence.
