How Satisfying the Collective Life is!

When we devote ourselves to the collective life, we eat nutritious foods, our living conditions are constantly improving, we do many different jobs, and we play happily together. When we escape from our small families, it is as if we have escaped from the bitter sea and have arrived on the sweet shore of heaven. Everything looks auspicious.
Every morning, just before dawn, our kitchen fills with steam and light. Our brothers and sisters come here in twos and threes to eat pieces of hot pancakes or rolls and then jubilantly start their work. Here, enthusiasm for work continues to rise and every day brings surprising changes. The efficiency is “as high as the cattle eats the Malian-brush” (from a two-part allegory). Our two meals are the climaxes of each day. During the meal times, our brothers play Chinese chess together and you will see a few hands rampaging on the chessboard, while our sisters happily talk about the interesting things that happened that day. I will fall asleep at night and not know what to expect.
In a word, the collective life is fully satisfying, capricious, and truly unrestrained!
