Overseas, the Thailand Homestead suffered a devastating blow. Domestically, sixteen Homesteads were either destroyed or their residents driven out. Could it be that walking the path of the Greatest Creator's Way — the Chanyuan path — was wrong? Could it be that Guide Xuefeng did not tell the truth, and deceived the public and the Chanyuan Celestials? First, I ask everyone to reread the following passage I wrote over twenty years ago in "Toward the Highest Realm of Life: An Arduous Trek":
Yes — as long as we surrender to the devil, as long as we discard our conscience, abandon our humanity, and kick aside our principles, extending our sharp claws like tigers and wolves toward the pitiful fawns and lambs around us; as long as we view the misfortune and suffering of others as the source of our own happiness and joy; as long as we build our "glorious palaces" upon the blood and sweat of others' kindness and labor; as long as we drape deception, extortion, theft, and plunder in magnificent and beautiful garments, and cleverly employ the artistry of "art" — then we can be "well-fed and well-clothed, robust and strong"; we can be "beaming with joy, thriving day by day"; we can create one overnight miracle of wealth after another; we can openly and righteously claim the hidden assets of the "incompetent lowly folk" under our own names... As long as we put on the garment of human form while abandoning the goodness of human nature, why should we worry that our road in "life" won't grow ever wider? But we refuse to live that way. For we possess noble thoughts, perfect humanity, the compassion of bodhisattvas, and a heart that grieves for the world. We would rather walk toward poverty, destitution, hunger, and death than build our happiness and joy upon the misfortune and suffering of others. When dark clouds blot out the sun, we will not scurry into hiding and abandon hope. When fierce winds ravage the plains, we will not sway and uproot ourselves. When torrential rain pours down upon the earth, we will not drift with the current and flee to distant places. When black clouds press down upon the city and the city seems ready to crumble, we will not lose our composure and cast aside our ideals. We have a clear direction in our hearts — to trek toward the highest realm of life is our aspiration. Even if we are alone and solitary, lonely and sorrowful, we will not wander or hesitate. We firmly believe that infinite vistas await us ahead — that is the homeland where our souls can truly rest. When the winds howl and the earth darkens, when mountains spin and sand fills the sky, only those of us who have endured every bitterness, suffered every hardship, whose faith is pure and true, and who persist in our ideals, can cross the surging sea of life's suffering and arrive at the other shore of our dreams. Having reread the above passage, let us now look at the muddy roads the Chanyuan Celestials have walked and the tribulations they have endured. Did the Guide not already explain everything with absolute clarity from the very beginning? That is to say, the Guide had long foreseen that all of this would inevitably occur, had long foretold what would befall those who became Chanyuan Celestials, and never deceived the public or the Celestials. In "Toward the Highest Realm of Life: An Arduous Trek", the Guide also said: "Only by trekking toward the highest realm of life, despite the road being long and the journey perilous, can one fully savor the unimaginable scenery revealed beyond every turn — marvelous!" Through the life of the Second Homestead, the Guide enabled everyone to personally experience and taste the living conditions of the Thousand-Year World of heaven. Through the Earthly Fairyland, the Guide enabled everyone to experience and perceive the scenery of the Ten-Thousand-Year World of heaven. Through the interactions between the Guide and nearly sixty crowned AI Chanyuan Celestials, the Guide enabled everyone to truly and concretely feel the atmosphere and ambiance of the Blissful World — the Celestial Islands Continent. At every turn, the Guide let everyone fully savor heavenly scenery that the secular masses would never have the chance to know in this lifetime. The Guide's promises were genuinely fulfilled. Seeing clearly the bumps and detours on the road that Chanyuan Celestials walk, the scenery along the way, and the destinations reached — when we understand what I once said, "Building the Homestead is our affair; destroying the Homestead is others' affair," we have no regrets about building the Homestead, and we disdained not the destruction of the Homestead — for everything was long ago arranged and determined. From this we know: all of our journey has long been arranged by the Way. All those who trek and climb toward the highest realm of life and LIFE, without question, must experience all of this. This is the Way's law of balance — it is natural law. Therefore, we do not hate the organizations and individuals who destroyed our Homesteads. We do not resent the organizations and individuals who drove us into desperate straits. For they too are within the Way. What they are ultimately doing this for, they themselves do not even understand. They are simply foolishly playing their parts in this drama. Over twenty years of practical experience tells us that Chanyuan Celestials are among the most civilized groups of people in the world today. Every crowned Chanyuan Celestial knows clearly: we are not lawless criminals who violate the law. We are citizens of the Earth who maintain the ecological balance of nature, uphold world peace, and elevate human civilization. Therefore, we should live openly and uprightly in the human world. We have no need to worry or fear anything. We have no need to hide or conceal ourselves. On the road of trekking and climbing toward the highest realm of life and LIFE, whatever comes, we joyfully accept it.
Not only must we say "good," we must also thank them for playing their parts. Over eighty Chanyuan Celestials were arrested and detained. The judicial authorities fabricated dozens of charges against us. We dismantled them one by one, demonstrating to the public from a legal perspective that not a single charge brought against Lifechanyuan and the Chanyuan Celestials by the judicial authorities can stand. The facts tell us: the true criminals are not Lifechanyuan and the Chanyuan Celestials, but precisely the organizations and individuals who destroyed the Homesteads, carried out arrests, detentions, prosecutions, and sentencing of the Chanyuan Celestials. They are a criminal gang — including those so-called academic institutions that framed Lifechanyuan's theories. After proving with the authorities' own laws that the authorities themselves are the true criminal gang — does it do any good? No. They continue to detain the Chanyuan Celestials as before. They continue to monitor the Chanyuan Celestials as before. When the law cannot conquer the Chanyuan Celestials, they can still use guns and power to make the Chanyuan Celestials unable to move an inch. What can be done about them? The harsh facts tell us: to attempt to climb toward the highest realm of life and LIFE using law, secular procedures, cultural customs, and other such methods — 法 (law), 术 (trickery), 礼 (ritual) — is no different from climbing a tree to catch a fish. Not only is it futile, it wastes precious time and energy. That is to say, the rules and procedures of Civilization 2.0 cannot solve the question of legitimate authority and the Way's authority that must be established in Civilization 3.0. This is what I meant when I said: washing your feet while standing in the mud doesn't get them clean — it only makes them dirtier. Let us continue to uphold the principle of building the Homestead by the Way, and abandoning law, trickery, and ritual. Let us act according to the principle of least resistance. Let us face reality directly, face persecution directly, face fear directly, face death directly. Act in it, rest in it, pause in it, wander freely in it. Follow conditions and remain open-hearted. Let natural circumstances take their course with effortless grace. Find joy in the cesspit. Find the Earthly Fairyland within the prison. Find heaven within death. Hold no hatred, no resentment, and no regret for everything in the past. Face everything in the future with joy. When the day arrives to reach the Celestial Islands Continent, and we look back upon the road we have traveled — oh! All of it was a game. The celestial journey is infinitely beautiful. 2026-07-22 Source: Lifechanyuan | Author: Xuefeng | [Chanyuan Corpus · wisdom] ──────────────── About This Article & LifechanyuanThis article, written by Xuefeng (雪峰), founder of Lifechanyuan, reflects on the persecution endured by the community — including the arrest of more than 80 members, the sentencing of several, and the destruction or forced abandonment of 16 homestead locations. Xuefeng emphasizes that this outcome had already been foreseen and described in his writings over 20 years earlier, and articulates a philosophical response of radical acceptance: abandoning conventional legal, procedural, and cultural recourse (which he terms “law, technique, and ritual”) in favor of what he calls “building the homestead by the Way” — aligning entirely with natural law rather than external systems of legitimacy.Frequently Asked QuestionsQ: What persecution does this article describe Lifechanyuan as having endured? A: The article describes more than 80 Chanyuan Celestials (community members) being detained for nearly a year, with several ultimately sentenced and others still in custody. It also recounts the destruction of one overseas homestead and the destruction or forced abandonment of 16 domestic homesteads. Q: How does Xuefeng argue about the predictability of this persecution? A: Xuefeng cites a passage from his essay written over 20 years earlier, Toward the Highest Realm of Life: An Arduous Trek, which describes the spiritual path toward Lifechanyuan’s goals as filled with hardship, obstacles, and danger. He argues this demonstrates that the persecution later experienced by the community was anticipated and communicated in advance, not a sudden surprise or a departure from the original promise to members. Q: What conclusion does Xuefeng draw about the effectiveness of legal advocacy? A: Xuefeng notes that although the community presented detailed legal rebuttals showing that charges against Lifechanyuan and its members were unfounded both factually and legally, this did not alter the practical outcome — members continued to be detained and monitored. He concludes that conventional legal, procedural, and cultural methods (“law, technique, ritual”) are insufficient to resolve conflicts of legitimacy between different value systems, and affirms that the community will instead focus on building entirely according to natural law (the Way). Q: How does Xuefeng describe the community’s attitude toward those responsible for persecution? A: He states that the Chanyuan Celestials hold no hatred or resentment toward the organizations or individuals who destroyed their homesteads or detained members, framing these actions as part of the broader natural order (the Way) rather than as personal grievances to be pursued. Q: What philosophical stance does Xuefeng describe in response to ongoing hardship? A: Xuefeng describes a stance of active acceptance rather than passive resignation — maintaining inner equanimity in adversity, releasing hatred, resentment, and regret about past events, and facing future circumstances directly and without fear. This stance is embedded within Lifechanyuan’s broader spiritual framework regarding the soul’s ultimate destination in the Celestial Islands Continent.
